NOW COMMUNICATE WITH DEAF AND HEARING IMPAIRED USERS VIA YOUR ANDROIDThis is the free basic version (with limited functionality, primarly intended as demo). The interpreter has an "in-app" upgrade option to the "PRO" version. This interpreter app is specifically designed to make communication with deaf and hearing impaired people as easy as possible. It uses speech recognition. To say something to a deaf or hearing impaired person you only need to touch the microphone and then speak whatever you want. The spoken words then appears directly as plain text on the screen. In principle it is also possible to make a telephe call by using an ordinary phone and our interpreter A precondition is that the phone has a speaker and that its sound quality is good. The other party must also realize that Android is used to process the speech and that a tone needs to be awaited before commencing to speak. The deaf and hearing impaired people can also reply by means of the built-in text-to-speech voice. He or she may also select a short text from a list with standard texts that will then be read aloud. This text-to-speech feature is especially useful if the user has difficulty speaking in a clear and intelligible manner. The screen of the Deaf Interpreter app is divided into two text fields. The top field is where the user can type something and the lower text field shows what was spoken. The use is simple (buttons from right to left): - The microphone button enables speech recognition. - The speaker button makes the app speak a typed or selected answer - The "?" question mark button opens this manual. - The "HIS" button shows the history of the previous conversation. - The "SEL" button opens a selection of pre-programmed responses. - The Menu button (button with the 3 bars) can also be used to activate most functions, as well as read the institutions. The "SEL" list can be used by a 'short' or 'long' touch. When touching briefly the selected text is moved into the text field, and can then possibly be edited and subsequently spoken touching the speaker symbol. When touching a line in the list 'long' the relevant text directly spoken. The Deaf Interpreter also has an audio VU meter with colored LEDs that enable the user to see whether something in the environment is making a noise or to monitor the speech. The VU meter can also be used during a telephone call to see if the other party is saying something. It is recommended to use a good quality TTS voice by brands like Acapela, Cereproc, Ivona, Svox or Google. Note: if you say "Shop" into the microphone and you will be guided directly to our shop in the Google Play Store. We wish you lots of pleasure and usefulness of this software.
