Peace. I am Queen Qiana, an Original Asiatic Black Woman. I am a Poet, Songwriter, Composer, and Entertainment Vocalist. I am a native of Joliet, Illinois. I have also resided in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. I have been actively singing since the age of 3 years old. Starting out, of course as most of us, in church. I am recording at 35th Street Studios, and in the process of my first release. I have been blessed with a talent that I am eager and willing to share with the entire world. Queen Qiana was born Qiana Danae'McKenzie in Joliet Illinois on January 30, 1980. She is the only child of a Christian pastor; thus the explanation of her singing roots beginning at the age of three in church. The attribute QUEEN is the title which was bestowed up on her by her LATE grandfather Johnny A. McKenzie who she affectionately refered to as PaPa. Queen Qiana is family oriented, values friendships dearly, and has a unique genuine sense of humour. Despite all of these obviously warm traits, her good nature is not to be taken as a weakness as she is no-nonsense when it comes to business, and stands firm on her set of personal morals principles and ethics. Music is the first love of her life, and driving force in her pursuit of success. The list of endeavours and accomplishments in the art form of music is extensive to say the least. Her list of accomplishments includes-winning first place in her third grade talent competition at Taft Elementary School; began a nine year study as a flutist at age 8; and reading and writing her own music as well is composing her own lyrics. Upon relocating to Muskegon Michigan in 1992 she won second place in the All-City High School talent competition. While attending high school in Muskegon, Queen Qiana continued her involvement with the marching band as a majorette. She played the flute with the concert band and sung with the jazz band, under the direction and tutelage of Mr. Robert Moore and Mr. Terrence Thornhill. As part of an award-winning marching band Queen Qiana travelled all over the country performing in the Heritage bowl, Orange Bowl, Circle City Classic four years and in a row, Mardi Gras and the BET Halftime Show in 1996. After relocating back to Joliet Illinois Queen Qiana auditioned for American Idol in 2003, in 2005 started a non-profit majorette team for at risk teen girls called the Joliet All City Hi-Steppers. In 2009 Queen Qiana was the lead singer for the group Smooth As Silk. In 2010 she auditioned for Steve Harvey talent scout competition at the Regal Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
